There are so many people throughout the globe, who are suffering from the very serious disease known as alcoholism. While some may realize they are suffering from over indulging in alcohol, there are some that are either in denial or do not realize they have a problem. Some people may be more susceptible to suffering symptoms of an alcoholic, but anyone who drinks is at risk.

Those suffering from alcoholism are suffering from a potentially deadly disease. Anyone who drinks alcohol is at risk of becoming an alcoholic. It is very important to always drink responsibly. Ladies are recommended to limit their daily dose to one drink a day and men to two drinks a day. One drink is considered a 12-ounce beer, a ten-ounce mixed drink, five ounces of wine or a 1. 5-ounce shot of straight liquor.

Alcoholism causes havoc in an alcoholic’s life, usually affecting many different aspects of their lives. Often times the disease will result in financial problems. Possibly, because they stay out all night drinking or suffering from a hang over and either miss work of have poor performance. Often times they may spend so much money on supporting their drinking habits that they have problems paying their bills.

Alcoholism is represented by several different characteristics and habits. One of the most often noticed signs is when a person requires much more alcohol to meet the same affects as they once were able to reach with much less. While an alcoholic may be legally drunk, someone may not realize it, because the drunk shows no outward affects.

Those suffering from alcoholism often times show visible signs of the disease, including drinking increasing amounts of alcohol to get the same affects. This is because they have developed a tolerance for alcohol. So many alcoholics may have drunk a lot more than they should, but they do not appear drunk. Others may do and say things while drunk that they do not remember when sober.

There are many side effects of alcoholism. It causes many problems through a persons’ life. Alcoholism is a disease, which can cause sorosis of the liver, pancreatitis, and heart problems. Sometimes it may result in poor eating habits and problems with sexual dysfunction.

Alcoholism does not only affect the alcoholic but those around them also. Many people loose their lives to drunk drivers each day. Many DUI drivers are suffering alcoholics who have become accustom to driving drunk even though they do not feel they are drunk. Anyone suffering from alcoholism should seek medical attention right away.
